I am the Champion of Kalos...

X style!

So after I done the two gyms, I forgot to update this, and blasted onto Victory Road. Which obviously I then had to go onto E4, and then the champion! Okay, so let's start with the final two gyms.

7th gym was.....yes, well I knew this gym was gonna be a strange one. Although I was happy that the level gap was getting closer. But it's was an easy type to beat. Loved the gym design, very different....and confusing.

8th Gym. Well, the gyms puzzle was interesting, and different. Although gym leader was a push over, levels were okay, but that type is just too easy to beat.

Before I go onto Victory Road, and E4. I've beat the Evil Team for this game. I kinda understand their plight for the story, although it all kinda seemed added the sad story on, would have prefer to hear it over the course of the game or something. And of course I had to catch the legendary for this game, but never used it in my team.

So Victory road was a very nice walk for a change, and I really liked it. I know some people think that Victory Road should be a challenge before the E4, I think the opposite. This was a nice walk with little struggle to get through.

The Pokemon League this time around was a fantastic building, really amazing. However very disappointed inside. The four members of the E4 was seriously boring. Not even full teams! Although, I did have to use a few different pokemon, and they have some marvelous names, Wikstrom, and Siebold!

Onto the Champion....didn't expect that person to be champ. And then...such a let down. Not tough at all. :/ Only used...two pokemon. And one was just a sacrifice to heal the other.

So now onto my team.
Blastoise Level 71 holding Blastoisinite, Gogoat Level 75, Malamar Level 75, Aegislash Level 76 holding Quick Claw, Delphox Level 76, Hawlucha Level 76

And thanks to my friend, Laura. She has send over all the starters from her games, and I've breed them so I now have all the starters. Plus the game took me. 9 days to complete, and 97 hours and 30 mins.

Anyway, with that being said and done. I'll now go back to talking about other general stuff on this channel.

Wow! Another post!

Well, yes. Because I have defeated two more gym leaders!

Firstly the 5th gym was very different to what I imaged it was going to be. Reminded me a bit of Blaines gym in the original game (Red/Blue). Which weirdly this game does a lot! Even Santalune Forest is an exact match for Viridian Forest in the Kanto Region! Also Blue is mentioned (although not by name, but it's Oak's Grandson, and he apparently said "Smell Ya Later"

Also, I've noticed the Hoenn has been mentioned a bit, as well as a man talking about Ruby and Sapphire! (3rd Gen remakes confirmed?)

Haunted house was a bit of a let down, expecting something much bigger out of it. :( However the pokemon on the outside has lead me to find a new favourite pokemon.....Goomy! Who's a Dragon, and looks so cute! But he's got such a poor defense stat. :(

And finally we get to the sixth gym, and wow....again. Reminding me a lot of the original games again, almost copy and paste of Sabrina's Gym (but obviously a different type). Again due to levels being high, didn't cause much of a problem in this gym, although the gap between me and them are closing. So maybe it's been intentional? I don't know.....also this gym has lead me to one of the weirdest pokemon to date.....a set of keys....I don't know.....I really don't. Apparently I should run into a wild set of keys soon.

So yeah, what will Goomy evolve into? Will the Next Gym be harder? Will the set of keys be a decent pokemon? Until next time.....

We're not Livin' on a prayer tho, but you can still take my hand and we'll make it to be champion, I swear.

So update on X, I now have two more badges, both pretty easy to get. I think I'm extremely over leveled tho. Which is kinda nice, but at the same time it's being much of a challenge.

The cave before the 3rd gym tho. How awesome was that. I loved the reflective mirror walls idea. It was more of a psychic cave rather than lots of zubats, and geodudes. Speaking of 3rd gym, the what has rollerblades got to do with that type?

Tower of Mastery was interesting (based on Mont Saint Michel in France) I would have liked it to be it's own city, but happy with just the tower. Will probably not be using Mega Evolutions in regular story mode.

Some lovely person on PSS, sent me a Squirtle Egg via trade (not sure if it was a wondertrade, or regular trade), but I've hatched it, and I'm now offering it for trade if anyone wants it.)Monorail/train bit seemed a weird idea to get to the 4th gym city, seemed pretty weird in my opinion. Would have been nicer to see a train go from one side of the region to the other, making an alternate to fly, with possible trainer fights maybe?

4 Gym was a nice maze, did miss a few trainer before I got to the leader, so went back and took them on. Swapped Blastoise, for Fletchinder just for this gym, but still haven't got him to evolve.

Made it to the power plant, and sorted that all out, the desert before it was very interesting idea. However the wind is annoying, as are the wild pokemon, did get trapped in a corner at one point and was forced into five fights straight after each other. However still over powered, so I don't care.

Now back in Paris....I mean Lumiose City, and should be taking on the gym leader for there soon. Not sure what type as I thought I've already took on this type.

2 gyms down on my quest.

And the reason I've not been updating this.....Pokemon X is awesome....just really awesome. I'm playing it now as I'm writing this. So far on my journey....

I beat the first gym leader quite easy, which was very surprising, and hugely fortunately good for me. I was low on health as I went in there, hadn't saved for a while, and could figure out how to get back to the pokemon center once I had defeated a few of her lackeys!! But luckily having two fire types, and three flying types, and one poison type was a pretty good idea.

Then it's a pretty long time before you get to the next gym! I was very shocked at this. But very happy. You get a lot of new pokemon between the first and second gym, most notably one of my favourite new pokemon....which I done a post on earlier (well, his evo!) Yup, I got a Honedge, it rocks. I can't believe how powerful, and useful it is!

I do feel very unhappy. I choose Squirtle over Bulbasaur. :( I should have gone with Buddy, but Mega Blastoise just looks so much better than Mega Venusaur. :(

I choose the Jaw Fossil, plus what an amazing cave! Hint for any maze! The left hand rule!) Yet to use the fossil pokemon. It looks great tho, but don't know who to swap out! :(

Second gym was sadly very easy. Was very disappointed, however it was a nicely desgined gym. And it was a nice, little, 3D maze to get through. However it was good that I could escape out of it, but I didn't need too, as since it was a long time going from one gym to the next, I was way over leveled!

Now on the other side of Geosenge, and my team is currently

Pancham! (HM Cut, and Strength) Pretty good attacker. Trying to figure out how to evolve it, someone said I needed to have a Dark type on my team, but it's not working so far!
Malamar! I love this squid! Contrary is a great ability, and has kept her from harm! Hyposis is helpful for catching stuff!
Honedge! Great attacker, doesn't get hit by many wild pokemon. :D
Skiddo! He's a goat! He's staying! Leech Seed, Seed bomb, Bulldoze, not sure what else to have, but he's so awesome looking!
Wartortle! I needed a water type, and Mega Blastoise looks awesome.
Braixen! My starter, I'm sure it's soon to evolve.

I got it!! (Some spoilers)

X was started today. Fennekin is my starter.

First route was a big of a let down. Hardly seemed worth the effort to walk down.

The new battle style is amazing, looks so much better. Against trainers it's very dynamic, and seems to make them seem more important.

The first route where you can start catching pokemon is a gold mine of pokemon to catch. Pidgey and Fletchling (one of the new pokemon), Weedles, and Scatterbugs (another new one.), and Zigzagoon and Bunnelby (another new pokemon). Then straight into a forest, and there's another boat load of new pokemon. The three monkeys, Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear, plus Caterpie, and Pikachu (yuk! They made it say it's name!)

However, it's a gorgeous new world, trainers battle each other, and you get the running shoes right off the bat!

So far my team is
Bunnelby, Scatterbug, Fennekin, Zigzagoon, Kakuna, and Fletchling.

However I'm just about to take on the first gym! Wish me luck!

It's the final countdown! Do do dooO do!

 So I have had a wonderful email saying that yes, my Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games have been dispatched. I will hopefully playing them tomorrow!

 So this is the first time that the pokemon adventure will be taking place in a region called Kalos. Kalos is closely based on France, and at the centre of the region is a city which has an "Effiel Tower" like building at it's centre.

 At the moment we only know a handful of new pokemon (although, I'm sure the whole list is out, as the game has been unofficially released in some countries.) Out of the ones we do know about, the most important pokemon of all. Will be.... Who are you starting with!

 You'll always get the option to choose one of three pokemon. You can pick the Grass type, Chespin. Who looks like a cross between a gopher, and a chesnut. The Water Type, Froakie....who's a frog... or the Fire Type, Fennewin....I mean Fennekin. Who's a Fox, and will be my starter of choice!

 In past games I tend to favor Grass types, but Foxes are awesome.

 Usually I'd try and guess my team out before hand, but there is honestly so many good looking pokemon this time around with amazing type combinations like Steel/Ghost, Grass/Ghost, Fighting/Flying, Dark/Psychic, Rock/Dragon. To one's that look fantastic, but with nothing else special going for them. So I will be testing out pokemon as I go, and seeing what fits my game style.

 Other new stuff that is interesting this time around, is the new Fairy type pokemon. Which a few pokemon are reclassed too, and brings a whole new stone to the Rock, Paper, Scissors concept.

 And the introduction to the idea of Mega Pokemon, which is basically a battle use only evolution in which the pokemon will evolve mid-match, and then go back to normal afterwards.

 I will try and document some of my game here, and give updates in to what I think of the game, and how well I'm doing.

Pokemon for Dummies

 Okay, so it's the last week before we get Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, the most highly anticipated pokmon games of all time. After a bit of drama earlier in the week, with someone getting their hands on the games early, it's suddenly hit that calm before the storm. It is now is taking ages to get here. Although, I'm curios about that guy getting the game early, if it's all bug free, and ready boxed and sent to stores, why are we still waiting for one more week to past!! Come on, Nintendo!!

 However I know what you're thinking. How can I be this old and like pokemon. Firstly, age is just a stupid thing to bring into it. There's plenty of older people that play pokemon. Secondly, the game has a lot of strategy, and tactics to it too.

 So let's start with the basics of the game. This world is a lot like our own world, except it has creatures known as pokemon living along side us. (Pokemon comes from the words "Pocket" and "Monster") Lots of pokemon exist in the wild, but now and again, Pokemon will befriend people, or people catch pokemon in devices called Pokeballs, and tame them.

 Some people who befriend pokemon are trainers. These trainer use pokemon for battling (which actually seems barbaric thinking about it, but I'm sure the pokemon would easily refuse to battle if they wanted to.). To battle you need to understand some basic points about pokemon.

 Firstly, there are roughly 695 different types of Pokemon, and these Pokemon are broken down into eighteen types. These types are Normal, Water, Ice, Fire, Grass, Electric, Ground, Rock, Steel, Bug, Flying, Fighting, Psychic, Dark, Ghost, Poison, Fairy, And finally, Dragon. These types are important to matches, because they usually dictate who's going to win. Battles are pretty much like huge games of Rock, Paper, Scissors. If your opponent has a rock, you need to use paper to win, pokemon is pretty much the same.

 One of the easiest examples to use are Water, Fire, and Grass. Water is strong against Fires, but Weak to Grass (Grass soaks up water.), Fire is strong against Grass, but weak to water, and Grass is strong against Water, and weak to fire. However because pokemon has eighteen types, you can imagine it's a complicated ordeal. Thankfully, most of it is logical. Another example is Rock types break wings of flying types, flying types can dive bomb fighting types, and fighting types smash rocks types. Also, it make matters even more fun, some pokemon have two types instead of one. Giving more weaknesses, but also covering some weaknesses.

As pokemon learn how to battle, they gain experience, as you get more experience, you gain levels (like most RPG's, and likewise you'll gain more attacks), when some pokemon reach a certain level, or requirement (such as being happy, or given a certain item) they can change into a completely new pokemon, who'll be stronger and before. This is called "Evolution.". The stronger your pokemon are the better chance you have at winning, even if you have the weaker type pokemon!

 Now to make our jobs even more fun, you can't carry more than SIX pokemon at a time. That's Six out of six hundred plus! Very difficult job, but to me that's one of the best part of any pokemon game. The fact I can switch between so many pokemon, and each pokemon battles differently, it can feel like a whole new game. Well, okay maybe not a whole new game, but it gives you a lot of options.

 Each game is part of a generation. Each Generation adds new pokemon, a new part of the pokemon world, new lore, new bad guys (because what game isn't complete without an evil team taking over the world,), and general shenanigans. The basic story for each game is roughly the same. You start in the hometown, you get give a choice of starter pokemon (a grass type, a water type, or a fire type) from the regions professor (who will always be named after a tree!), you'll be asked to fill up a pokedex (a pokemon diary, that tells you all about the different pokemon as you see, and  if you've caught them or not), you'll be told that you're a good trainer and should try out to became a pokmon champion trainer. To do that you need to visit eight towns and visit special pokemon gyms. Each gym is based one on of the many types of pokemon, and all gym members, and the gym leader will have only those types of pokemon. Once you have gained eight badges of proof of beating the gyms, you get to take on the Elite Four, who once again, specialize in one type of pokemon. Then you face the current champion, defeat the champion to win the game. During your travels, you'll defeat an evil team trying to rule the world, or ruin it completely. See legendary pokemon, which according to many people inside the game are fictional, and have a chance to catch them. You also have options to take part in numerous other side quests from beauty contests, to appearing in films.

 One of the most unusual parts of the pokemon series is connectivity with other games, and players. You can trade pokemon with friends, or battle them to see which of you is better!

 Of course, next week holds a new game coming out, a start to the sixth generation of pokemon games, they're adding quite a few new stuff. Of course new region and new pokemon are a give, but this is the first time since the second generation, that we are getting a new type. This is the Fairy type, which could also pass as a magic or fae type. They added this to balance out the type advantage and disavantages, and the idea behind it is extremely well thought out. We also now know that some pokemon can Mega evolve, which only last until the battle is going, then they'll go back to the previous form, which should add some interesting twists.

 What other surprises are instore for us in pokemon, is something we have to wait and see. It nearly got spoiled on Tuesday, when someone got hold of the X game. They were posting photos of their playthrough, highlighting, and some interesting infomation. (Which I won't go into, but I'm happy to have seen the route map for the new region.) However I've decided apart from my starter pokemon (Fennekin, for the win!), I shall not decide on my team before hand, I'll try every new pokemon out as I find them.

 But rest assured, next week Friday, when I have the game in my claws, Disgaea, GTA V, and every other game, is going on the back bench for a while....along with most of my social life, because everyone knows....I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was, to catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause. I will travel across the land, searching far and wide.....

Reviews and Spoilers.

 Okay, so before I go onto the topic of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD,  IT Crowd, and Pokemon X/Y. I'm gonna talk about Spoilers.

 I always prefer not to know hardly anything about a show/film (or nothing at all, if it's a new season of a show I watch) If you already know everything about a show/film then it's not a surprise to watch it. I will watch the odd trailer, but all the interviews with people leaking out key secrets to the story is very tiresome. So I'm gonna try and not spoil anything when I do a review, no key plots, no revealing twists. I'll try my hardest. (Or I'll at least try and warn before I place a spoiler down.)

 Anyway, firstly to Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. It was a very good first episode, lots of good action scenes. It's pretty much as I thought it was going to be. Possibly tried to add too many new characters into the first episode, but I'm pretty sure I can see where the end episode (or the over all story arc is going) not sure if that's a good or bad thing. However I will be watching it every week!

 The last episode of the IT Crowd. What can I say? It was very funny, lots of little references to past episodes. I thought it was gonna go completely in a different direction. However it was great to see the whole gang together, even if it's only for the last time. And yes, I still want all of Roy's Shirts.

 And Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are out in less than a fortnight now, and late on Friday night, screenshots of the game seemed to be appearing on quite a few sites. It looks like some official game reviewers have got the game early. While screen shots were real, a lot of information seemed to be false. While I hate spoilers for lots of stuff, I don't really mind a few spoilers for pokemon. However I will be keeping away from all pokemon news now until the games have been released. But I will blog an odd post or two about the game series as a whole in the next couple of weeks.

 Going back to Disgaea D2 now (another game, which I will talk about very soon), so until next time.

New pokemon: Doublade!

Look! Another post! And not a year between them, ain't I clever?

 Anyway, so on my last post you might have noticed that I was getting excited to the new pokemon games. Now, I want to make this clear....I just like the Pokemon Main Games!...and Manga series....and I have a few plush toys.

 The introduction to new main game equals one important thing....New Pokemon. This Generation has been truly great with terms of design, and ideas. There's a lot of pokemon that I really like the look of this time around, and one of these pokemon was called "Honedge". It was a Ghost and Steel type, and it was a possessed sword. Now, there was a few things run through my mind when I saw this pokemon.

1. A sword pokemon! Awesome, I love swords.
2. A ghost pokemon! Awesome, I love Ghosts.
3. A ghost/steel pokemon! I love new type combos!

 With all that in mind however one thing came to mind, because it seemed really special and unusual I predicted that it wouldn't have an evolution. Today, I was proved wrong, and I'm happily wrong (and it's not the first time with this Generation.)

 So welcome Honedge's evolution... Doublade! Okay, so it is literally two Honedge's spot welded in the middle, but this is pokemon! Stuff like this happens now and again (Dugtrio, dodrio, Magneton, Weezing, Vanilluxe, Klink/Klang/Klinklang.), so I don't mind, and why would I? Two swords are better than one!

 If you haven't gone by now, well done. You'll also be pleased to know that I'll spend most of Friday night by the TV. As "Agents of Shield" will be aired, as well as the last episode of "The IT Crowd". I may need to get some Jaffas to enjoy my TV watching! :)

Rebooting systems.....System start.

 It's been a long time since I tried to start this, and I want to blog more. I'm going to blog more!! (Honestly, you can slap me if needs be)So let's start with what's happened since last time I blogged. 

1. Well, I've fallen in love, and felt heart break as she broke up with me.
2. I've travelled to Japan, with my Martial Arts Group to train with Soke Masaaki Hatsumi. Also, I currently hold the title of 3rd Dan in Bujinkan Ninjutsu.
3. We've witnessed a fantastic "Doctor" from Matt Smith in Doctor Who, and it'll be sad to see him leave at the end of the year (more about that later.) 
4. Great load of films were released.
5. Great load of video games were released.

And now let's look to the future.

1. Peter Capaldi is THE DOCTOR! Really looking forward to see what he brings to Doctor Who. 
2. Hopefully will plan another trip to Japan.
3. Pokemon X/Y are soon to be released, as is Assassins Creed Black Flag! Both look like they'll be amazing!
4. So many great films from the Hobbit, to Avengers 2!
5. Playstation 4
6. Agents of Shield starts soon!
7. I can't think of a Six!
